Connecting Europe Facility

 

The proposal “ZAL Murcia” (nº 2014-ES-TM-0253-S) was submitted to the 2014 call of the EU's “Connecting Europe” program, by a consortium comprised by the Regional Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructures and the Regional Development Agency of Murcia. This proposal was aimed at developing the necessary studies and projects to carry out the Intermodal Terminal and ZAL of Murcia in the Mediterranean Corridor. The aforementioned proposal, has obtained a grant of €970,450 (50% of the total), the maximum planned for these projects in that procedure.

The Regional Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructures of Murcia submitted a project to a 2021 CEF call for the implementation of the Intermodal Terminal of Murcia and the railway connection to the TEN-T Mediterranean Corridor, being awarded of a grant of €13,929,514 (30% of the total), under the Grant Agreement Project 101079672 — 21-ES-TG-IT MURCIA.

Afterwards, the Regional Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructures of Murcia is once again awarded a grant of €4,957,691 (50% of the total), within the 2022 call CEF-T-2022-SAFEMOBGEN-PARKINGS-WORKS, with the “Safe Parking for Trucks Safe4Trucks” project, under the Grant Agreement Project 101122631 — 22-ES-TG-MURCIA SAFE4TRUCKS. The objective is to develop and implement a safe and secure parking area for trucks (SSTPA) next to the railway Intermodal Terminal and in the scope of action of the ZAL of Murcia, with Gold level (Gold, EU Parking), in accordance with the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1012 of the Commission regarding the level of service and security of SSTPA.
